Onomichi is an historic port town located in Hiroshima that includes part of the 60km Shimanamikaido cycling road between 2 of Japan's largest islands, Honshu and Shikoku.

It is popular as a day trip destination from nearby Hiroshima city and famous for its mountain top Senkoji temple walk.

Spend a day in Onomichi city samplying the famous Onomichi ramen and Okonomiyaki while visiting the numerous cafes and art galleries.

Feeling energetic, rent a bicycle for the scenic ride over the Shimanamikaido sea road hopping island to island over massive suspension bridges with panoramic island and sea views comparable to Vietnam's Halong Bay.

Take a short ferry ride from nearby Omishima island to Japan's famous Rabbit Island to play with hundreds of friendly rabbits and explore the ruins of Japan's secret poison gas factory.

Getting tired, return your rental bicycle on the islands or put it on a scenic ferry back to Setoda town or Onomichi city for a relaxed evening on the boardwalks by the sea. There is nothing more beautiful than the lights shining off the calm waters.

Finally end your day at one of the numerous Japanese Izakaya bars chatting with friendly locals practicing their often limited English. Thank you google translate!

Spend the night in central Onomichi, close to the station, or in the beautiful and historic island town of Setoda. Both locations are perfect for an evening stroll by the sea.

After this take advantage of one of our tailor made tours available all over Japan.
